As of Saturday, November 1st, SNAP benefits expire. *This hurts single parent households and military families the most. **Even if you are not personally "feeling it" as a citizen or family, please do this on behalf of the least among us in our communities.

Disclaimer: Is there a lot of "fluff" in government entitlements? Yes, there is, yet this not the time to have that fight. The Trump Administration has already passed legislation that moved the work incentive back into welfare programs which is on its way to helping the problem of government bloat. However, we do maintain there are citizens in our communities that need assistance. The political games of democrats are hurting these citizens and we not fans of pulling the rug out from underneath anyone for political gain.

Are we surprised that Democrats are playing games with the livelihood of single-parent and military families in our communities? Sadly, we are not. The word on the street is that the Dems will continue to keep the Government closed through the November 4 election next week in order to boost turnout for the New Jersey and Virginia Governor's races.
As Republicans, we are not fans of entitlement programs for obvious reasons, yet neither are we fans of hurting people who do in fact, need help with food security, like Veterans and single mothers. We are thinking of single moms for example, who DID choose to have their babies instead of choosing abortion.
Although government bloat for these programs does exist and we would like to see the system overhauled, we recognize the Trump Administration has already initiated legislation passed by Congress which put the work incentive back into welfare programs.
Therefore, we are asking every citizen to contact Michigan Senators Slotkin and Peters and tell them to join John Fetterman of PA, Catherine Cortez-Masto of NV and Angus King of MN who have voted regularly for the past 2 weeks to reopen the federal government.
