Brief Recent History

During the week of November 19th, all we heard from the Media and Congress was Epstein. Epstein. Epstein.

President Trump encouraged Congress to vote to release the Epstein files last week and it was practically a unanimous vote,  at 487-1. After all of these years of speculation [along with the citizen doubts of the United States government, which is one of the reasons Trump was in elected in 2016 and then again in a landslide in 2024], there was never a better time for Republicans to have courage and band together.

During the week of November 18, the Epstein issue hit a fever pitch because James Comer, US Congressman, D1-Kentucky and Chair of Oversight and Accountability, shared new emails  that Rep. Stacey Plaskett of the Us Virgin Islands was revealed to have been receiving live texts from Jeffery Epstein, who through these texts was providing questions Epstein himself wanted her to ask. This happened in 2019 during a Judiciary hearing where she was questioning witness Michael Cohen regarding the Russiagate matter.

Aside form the fact that it is highly inappropriate for an officer of the court to receive a text message from a “coach,” in a hearing at all, it was especially egregious given Epstein was already a convicted sex offender at the time, let alone a convicted pedophile. It turns out that Rep. Stacey Plaskett representing the US Virgin Islands is in Congress protecting the interests of Jefferey Epstein because her district is of course where Epstein Island is located. Quite simply, a member of United States Congress was protecting and skewing testimony to protect a pedophile.

***Therefore, on November 18, 2025 after this had been revealed, Representative Ralph Normal, (R-S.C.)  of the US House, motioned to censure Stacey Plaskett for her egregious behavior. That had been newly revealed information. In politics, one rarely has amount in either Party where a slam dunk of this nature takes place. This was the EASIEST vote for a Republican to make given Epstein’s was already a convicted Pedophile.

Slam Dunk Not-So-Much

What do you think happened?

Three Republicans voted NO. Three others voted “present” (which counts as a no vote.) Therefore, the measure to discipline Stacey Plaskett FAILED due to SIX Republicans.

But unfortunately it gets WORSE

The reason they voted NO is because Representative Cory Mills of Florida-07, cut a backroom deal in order to save himself from an ethic’s violations of his own. In other words, he was being investigated for certain violations and the Democrats promised not to vote to Censure him if he would vote No in censuring Plaskett.

Here is the GREAT Representative and REAL Republican, Tim Burchett of Tennessee expressing his disgust while walking out of the Capital building, revealing the facts minutes after the censure failed.

So, aside from the way this makes all of us feel, it really couldn’t be a better example of what we mean when we say “Fake versus Real Republican.” Or, when we point out the difference when a candidate runs “AS” a Republican which is distinguishable from a candidate who actually IS a Republican.

*After the measure to censure failed, Representative Tim Burchett of TN-07 was so disgusted, he exposed the truth in a now viral social media video media video he recorded of himself walking out of the Capital building the evening of November 18.

He referenced that Republicans had been given a gift (three houses of power) and they had opportunities to do great things. However, they would soon blow it if they didn’t learn how to behave as Republicans.

Why Does This Matter to Ottawa County?

There are a lot of Endorsement Convention Events coming in 2026. Some of them are required by state law so it's important for you to understand the relevance of the Republican Delegation here in Ottawa.

Republicans of Ottawa County:

When we tell you a candidate is “real” Republican, we are talking about the incorruptible kind, who tell the truth, vote Constitutional and moral values, and don’t abuse their elected office with insider trading. These are candidates who align with our Resolution on Republican Accountability.

When we tell you someone is a Fake Republican, they are people that act like Cory Mills of Florida, someone who votes liberal principles whenever they think they can get away with it, who cut backroom deals to save themselves from accountability and literally ignore the behavior of fellow member of Congress who protect pedophilia or any other type of government corruption.

When our delegates have endorsement conventions, they research and do their homework by interviewing and calling all of the candidates and getting answers to as many questions as they can. When they make an endorsement, it is because they do they best they can to vet.

Speaking of Endorsements...

Is every candidate who isn’t endorsed corrupt? No. The delegates will always move to endorse whom they feel will abide the Constitution of the United States of America and in doing so is the most qualified for the office they seek.

But whenever the delegates decide a candidate is “fake?” There is a 99.9% chance they are accurate because they know the people in and around the candidate, they examined the individual candidate’s record, and they have personally question the candidate.

We need more Tim Burchett’s in Ottawa County and in the state of Michigan and less like Cory Mills. **There are too many “Cory Mills’” types in the Republican Party and we aim to primary them one by one by one by one.
